How does this work?
On this site you can find an exceptional one-on-one tutor from a top university. It takes just seconds and it's free. Select a tutor you like by subject, experience, price, location, rating, and more. Then contact the tutor directly by filling out the form at the bottom of their profile page. Finally, work with them for as long as you'd like and deal with the tutor directly for scheduling and payment. We'll stay out of your way!
What are the tutor's qualifications? How should I select one?
The tutors you'll find on this site are all top college students at Tufts University. You'll typically be able to find a tutor who is majoring in the subject in which you need help. On their profile page you can also see how much experience they have, get a feel for their teaching style and personality, read reviews from their past clients, see their major and GPA, and schedule a time to talk to them on the phone. Try it out, we think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
What age groups or grades do you tutor?
The tutors are all college students (some grad students too) so the age range varies. High school students are probably the most common, but we also tutor students all the way from elementary school to various graduate programs. We have even tutored a 3 year old learning Spanish and an 87 year old who wanted to learn how to send email to her grandchildren.
What are the hourly rates for tutoring sessions?
Each tutor sets their own rate, so shop around! It typically ranges between $20 to $60 per hour. We don't take a percentage of what you pay the tutor or charge an hourly fee like most tutoring companies. In other words, the tutor keeps 100% of what you pay.
Where are tutoring sessions held?
Tutoring sessions can be held wherever you are most comfortable. For example, the tutor can drive to your place of residence. Coffee shops and bookstores work well. The library on campus is another popular option. You can discuss what works best for you with your tutor. Check the tutor's policy on driving times and how far they are willing to travel on their profile page.
What if I don't like the tutor?
If you didn't get any value out of the tutoring session, you can discuss a refund with your tutor (it is up to them). The good news is that there are no long term contracts or block of hours that you have to buy so you can stop working with a tutor at any time. We have such a wide variety of tutors signed up that it shouldn't be too hard to find the right one. Interviewing the tutor on the phone before meeting is usually the best way to make a good match.

Do you provide standardized testing tutors?
Yes, we have helped a number of people preparing for the SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, ISEE, and other types of exams. The tutors are college students though, so you probably won't find any help on exams which come later in life (CPA, Series 7, State Bar, etc).
Do you have tutors that specialize in helping children with learning disabilities?
Yes. We have some tutors who have had experience in this area. We have successfully worked with students who have ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia to name a few. Look for "ADD/ADHD" or "Dyslexia" under the "Subjects" menu when searching for a tutor.
Do you have tutors that teach organization and study skills?
Yes! Many students see the biggest improvement by studying smarter, not harder. Look for "Study skills/Organization" under the "Subjects" menu when searching for a tutor.
Can two students share a tutor?
Probably, but it's up to the tutor. If its just two students, its typically not a problem and they can split the bill to save some money. But if you'd like to bring the whole class to the session you might need to negotiate a different rate with the tutor.
