| Experience: | I have worked with children at summer camp the last three summers, and have always found the most fulfiling part of the work to be watching a kid display a new skill I have taught him or her (even if it is something as seemingly minute as knowing the rules of kickball). I also worked for two years as a classroom assistant at my Hebrew School, where I had the more challenging experience of teaching kids a foreign language with a completely new alphabet.
I have discovered in my time working with kids that I have a good resevoir of patience. I have also learned how to strike the right balance between being firm without being overly authoritarian and being flexible while still maintaining control over the situation. I want to be a tutor so I can continue working with kids, this time in a one-on-one capacity.
My SAT score was 1460. My APS were as follows:
Government: 3
French Language: 3
English: 5
Wortd History: 5
European History: 4
I also am an Eagle Scout. I am an English major but I can teach pretty much anything in the humanities, including French up to a conversational level. |
| Hobbies: | I am an avid baseball fan (even though my Washington Nationals are currently the worst team in baseball). I write for Tufts' paper, the Tufts Daily, and have been involved with journalism since middle school. I am also a captain on the Tufts fencing tea |
